Day 3

During the day, we did an heritage tour through the first historic centre of Almodóvar del Río, starting from the most prominent location in the town: the “Plaza de la Constitución” or “Plaza del Ayuntamiento”.

From there on a circular path we were able to walk through the most famous streets and squares of the town, passing through its historic buildings, both civil and religious.

We also passed near fountains, such as that of the recently refurbished “Plaza Juan Merinas”, that was so important in ancient times in the supply of the population. We could also see strategic control locations such as the “Mirador del Ribazo” from where you have the view of the entire “Vega del Guadalquivir”, and other recently built monuments that illustrate the history and legends of Almodóvar del Río.

We also had the opportunity to visit the castle of Almodóvar del Río, in which we saw several locations where scenes from the series “Game Of Thrones” were filmed. We listened to a tourist guide, who told us the whole history of the castle.
